Ashely National Forest
Ashley National Forest is located in northeastern Utah and Wyoming. It encompasses 1,384,132 National Forest acres, (1,287,909 in Utah and 96,223 in Wyoming). Of the total acres, 276,175 are High Uintas Wilderness (180,530 additional acres of High Uintas Wilderness is located on the Wasatch / Cache National Forest). Elevations on the Ashley National Forest range from 6,000 feet to over 13,500 feet.

The Outlaw Trail
Close by this spectacular Utah property for sale is the "outlaw trail" of The Old West as is documented in the wanderings of Robert Leroy Parker (Butch Cassidy), and Harry Longbaugh (The Sundance Kid). Robert Parker was born in Beaver, Utah and moved to Circleville before beginning his notorious adventures. He then met up with Cassidy and formed 'The Wild Bunch'. Later they met Kid Curry and formed 'The Hole in the Wall Gang'. 'The Hole in the Wall Gang' used the area just to the north of Vernal known in the 1890's as Brown's Hole and is today Brown's Park where today you can view their trails.

Utah Dinosaurs

Just to the east of Vernal, Utah is The Dinosaur National Monument. Dinosaurs in Utah lived during the Mesozoic Era, (225 to 65 million years ago) which is often named the "Age of Dinosaurs" and Utah has one of the best Mesozoic rock records in the world with fossils of plants and animals of all shapes and sizes including the smaller trilobites and the giant Triceratops.

Dinosaur National Monument
Mysterious, ancient petroglyphs and pictographs are also found in the area of the Moondance Ranch property for sale. In Brown's Park and at Dry Fork Canyon some 200 feet of petroglyphs from the Fremont culture (500 a.d.) still awe visitors.
